GVP Guest Wins Round Trip Ticket to Brazil at Carnival Event

By sunland | Published February 9th, 2012

Brazilian Night Winner Golden Village Palms
The Brazilian Carnival celebrations at the Golden Village Palms RV Resort was a great hit and nobody knows better than Paul Turner, snowbird from Calgary British Columbia. He walked away with a full belly of Brazilian food, wet his whistle with Carpirinhas, AND took home a round trip ticket to Brazil, courtesy of Copa Airlines.

We do love our Canadian guests but, no favoritism here, this one just got lucky. Everyone who paid for this event was entered to win this festive flight. We’re certain our resort guests are still raving about the event from their slideout couches to Facebook (Click there to enter to win more prizes!).

Although our Mr. Turner was the evening’s big winner, the night was chalked full of live dancing, entertainment, feather clad beauties, and Brazilian culinary delights where fun was had by all.

If  you didn’t make this event, fret not! The unstoppable events team at Hemet’s Golden Village Palms is gearing up for Mediterranean Night later this month that will include Ozo, belly dancing classes, and  world class belly dancers with veils, swords, snakes, candles, and more. Bellydancing will be performed with Turkish, Cairo and Tribal styles accompanies by 10 performers and live drummers, too! Get your event tickets and your reservations now.

Golden Village Palms RV Gives Back to Community Care Takers

By sunland | Published January 24th, 2012

Earlier this month, Golden Village Palms had our Emergency Personal Appreciation Breakfast. Forty-eight Hemet public service professionals visited the property from varying city departments including Fire, Police & Ambulance crews.  The city employees and care takers of Hemet and the Golden Village Palms community were joined by  with 100 GVP guests.

The front of the club house was  packed full with police cars, motorcycles, undercover cars, swat, fire trucks, and ambulances. Our honored guests really enjoyed and appreciated the breakfast, where they got a chance to meet and interact with other public service professionals. Many of the emergency personnel had never been to the resort before and were just amazed at the oasis and the amenities that resort has. The event was such a success that some officials suggested they come out in the future to hold safety meetings with our guests. We think it’s a brilliant idea! Below are some photos of the event attendees and a very cordial thank you letter from the Police Department.

It was a great feel good day at the resort but the funny thing is, no matter how much we tried to promote and give the guests prior notice of the event, there was a rush of phone calls and bystanders wanting to know what happened. It was nice to report it was just a good time had by all.

In another good turn of events, Golden Village Palms hosted a their Annual January Hospice fundraising event.  The theme was Hospice a Sure Bet. The event was hosted by Lynne Anderson and Pat Crocket of Golden Village Palms.  A lunch of crab salad on croissant was served while guest perused a silent auction of items donated by guests. A fashion show was also held featuring the GVP ladies modeling items they purchased from second hand stores. It always amazing how classy and beautiful our guests are in their bargain items.

200 Village Palms ladies attended and $1000.00 was raised along with a large collection of items to be donated to the Hospice thrift store.  The annual event was an annual success and we look forward to hosting it again next year.

La Jolla, California

By sandbag | Published April 12th, 2011

About the only thing you may get wrong when visiting La Jolla is the pronunciation of the name — la hoya. You will not go wrong if you’re searching for an area with great natural beauty with a mixture of geology — sandy beaches and rocky shorelines. You’ll also find topnotch golf courses, art galleries, fine shopping and dining. Just 15 minutes from downtown San Diego, the protected waters of La Jolla Cove are home to bright orange Garibaldi fish and wild seal congregations. Sea caves indent the cliffs

If you’re coming for the beautiful beaches and crystal clear water, you won’t be disappointed. La Jolla Cove, with some of the clearest water of all San Diego beaches, make it ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling. La Jolla Shores is a mile-long beach, which features gentle waves during the summer — making it the prime beach for family excursions and novice snorkelers.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps is the public exploration center for the world-renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. Perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the aquarium features more than 60 habitats of fishes and invertebrates from the cold waters of the Pacific Northwest to the tropical waters of Mexico and beyond. An interactive museum showcases research discoveries by Scripps scientists on climate, earth, and ocean science.

There’s much more than water in La Jolla, though, so make sure to pack your golf clubs to experience a premier municipal golf course. Torrey Pines Golf Course sits on the coastal cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and offers two picturesque and widely recognizable championship 18-hole golf courses. It is one of the most accessible public facilities for the die-hard enthusiast wishing to play at a world-renown facility that nearly all golfers know by name.

You don’t have to be outside to enjoy La Jolla. The city’s streets are alive with the world’s shopping elite. From high-end art galleries to charming boutiques, you’ll be tempted by countless opportunities to bring a piece of La Jolla home with you. Five-star restaurants and cozy eateries serve every appetite.

For those who may want a fine dining experience while taking a comfortable stroll should reserve a spot with a La Jolla Walking Wine Tour. A three-hour epicurean tour led by a local expert introduces La Jolla’s wine, food, and culture scene to well-satisfied visitors.
